Mission: To reduce tobacco use and reduce exposure to secondhand smoke in Solano County.
ABOUT THE TOBACCO-FREE SOLANO COALITION
The Tobacco-Free Solano Coalition (TFS) has led tobacco-free advocacy efforts in Solano County since 1990. The TFS advises the Tobacco Prevention and Education Program, and Coalition members are critically involved in tobacco prevention projects as active participants and leaders.
MEETINGS
The Solano County the Tobacco-Free Solano Coalition meets quarterly in January, April, July and October. All meetings are open to the public and new members are always welcome. TFS meetings are currently being held via Zoom and will be moving to a hybrid in July of 2024.
WHAT A COLLABORATION! CELEBRATING OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT OUR FEBRUARY 2024 MEETING
At our February 2024 meeting, Tobacco Free Solano held its first hybrid in person and virtual meeting. We hosted 52 participants which included four local youth groups, three elected officials, and eight community health organizations. At our meeting, we celebrated our accomplishments which included the 2022 Vallejo Smoke-free Multiunit Housing Ordinance, progress with development plan for the Vallejo Tobacco Retail License Ordinance, and Benicia Vaping Townhall. Whether you are a community advocate, youth advocate, or community health organization, we want your input in how to make Solano County tobacco- free.
SUCCESS! OUR JANUARY 2020 MEETING
On our January 2020 meeting, we celebrated our coalition’s successes and a Solano first: Benicia’s new tobacco ordinance, the strongest in Solano County. Join Tobacco Free Solano to learn about some amazing local young people, their passionate work on tobacco advocacy, and have an opportunity to meet with local officials.
