Don’t miss the chance to participate in the Solano Youth Leadership Institute: Health Equity Training hosted by Solano County Office of Education‘s Youth Development and Touro University California‘s Youth In Action for Health Equity program.

Program Highlights

  • 🗓️ Dates: August 5-9, 2024
  • 🌍 Location & Time:
    • Days 1-3: Fairfield, CA 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM
    • Day 4: Sacramento, CA (transportation from Fairfield provided) 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
    • Day 5: Fairfield, CA. 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • 📚 Three Extended Learning Sessions throughout the school year for advanced project development and career exploration!
  • 🍴 Free light morning refreshments and lunch are provided each day

What to Expect

This 5-day intensive youth advocate training will be led by experts in Youth Development, Peer Education, Public Health, and Environmental Prevention. Participants will:

  • 🏛️ Participate in a field trip to the State Capitol to meet with leaders in governing agencies
  • 💬 Engage with decision-makers about issues affecting their communities
  • 📝 Learn about the process of policy development
  • 🎯 Develop their own prevention campaign in their community (carried out during the following school year)
