A handful of Solano County students stepped up to the challenge to fight fentanyl with their video submission…and won! This innovative and original video won 1st place in our 2024 #OnePillCanKillSolano Fentanyl Prevention Video Contest! 🥇

Meet the 1st Place Winners of VibeSolano’s 2024 #OnePillCanKillSolano Fentanyl Prevention Video Contest!

From left to right: Ernesto, Angel, Nathan, and Alfredo. These four incredibly talented students are Juniors at Fairfield High School. They submitted the winning video posted above.

Alfredo was inspired to take the lead in creating a video about substance abuse prevention because he says it hurts to see his community hurting. Angel says, “I think it’s pretty scary to see what the effects of drugs do to a person’s mentality. It completely destroys their brain”. Nathan unfortunately experienced family loss due to substance abuse; and Ernesto participated in this contest because seeing individuals around town addicted to drugs and seeing them in pain, he felt the need to help them out somehow.

The artistic production of constructing videos and what happens in between creates memories for them. Alfredo says, “It reminds you of what you did and what you did together”. Knowing that their creation is something that belongs to them and it’s something they are highly proud of, is what sparks their creativity.

Outstanding job on successfully creating an artistic and highly innovative video! Join us in congratulating Ernesto, Angel, Nathan, and Alfredo!
