High blood pressure is known to be one contributing factor to chronic diseases such as heart disease and stroke. In Solano County heart disease and stroke rank as the second and third leading causes of death respectively. One in 2 adults has above-normal blood pressure, and most are unaware they’re at risk because the symptoms are easily missed or ignored. Left untreated, hypertension, the medical term for high blood pressure, leads to stroke and heart attack.
