During COVID, my first job was doing health screenings at the San Francisco International Airport Quarantine Station. I took a ton of walks inside the airport. After work, I went for a lot of long walks with friends around parks and the city I live in.
I love cutting up Meyer lemons and squeezing the juice in my water. I also love adding slices of watermelon to my water.
One of my favorite recipes is chicken tortilla soup. The best way to cook it is with a crockpot. Here is the recipe: 1 can of corn, 1 onion, 1 can of stewed tomatoes, 1 can of beans, 3 bell peppers, 3-6 pieces of chicken breasts, 2 boxes of chicken broth or chicken bone broth. ; For the chicken- season with garlic, salt, pepper, and all-purpose seasoning, cumin, and smoked paprika; cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4. Garnish with tortilla chips (or use pieces of tortilla and cook on stove), 1 block of sharp cheddar (or use pre-shredded), guacamole, green onion, and sour cream
I would develop a survey and ask the people who are interested in classes if they would prefer classes in person or virtually. I would ask what the barriers are for attending classes and determine if there are options for public transit or a preferable forum online: Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google?
I love to go walking around the city I live in and exploring the different neighborhoods around me. I also love hiking and am trying to plan for some hikes where I can explore new places and connect with people.
More peer-peer based education. Having peers take the lead with health education and work with public health to have discussions with their peers and determine beliefs towards vaping and other determinants of health/ trends affecting youth. I think having more in-person discussions with youth, parents, and school staff, will inspire each group to develop to take a collaborative approach and determine a plan and actionable steps.
